What’s Happening in LHB?
Presently the (2) individuals that tested positive for COVID-19 are now fully recovered and were able to be present at the worship service this past Sunday, July 5th. As of now, there are no positive cases to report of in our church family.
What does this mean for LHB?
We encourage you to look to God’s word for clarity, confidence, and comfort.
Philippians 4:4-7 says, 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Brothers and sisters in Christ there should be a noticeable difference in how we respond to crises and how the world responds. Just as Paul instructed the Phillipians, we too are to rejoice in our present situation and circumstances. We must be reasonable in our response. The word “reasonableness” in this text means, “a patience under adversity” or “a gracious humility” which helps us submit to trials of any kind without “knee-jerk reactions” like sinful anger or anxiety. And when these “knee-jerk reactions” come we fight things like anxiety with prayer to our good and faithful Father in heaven, who gives us a perspective of peace, which belongs to us His children in Christ Jesus.
We believe this is an opportunity to continue to preserve, proclaim, and prioritize the gospel. Our response below is an application of how we as Christians can rejoice in the gospel and let our reasonableness be made known to everyone.
As you know our current situation is rapidly changing, so may God’s grace abound as we work together through this matter.
